Rijkaard replaces Korkmaz as the new Manager of Galatasaray

Galatasaray have appointed Frank Rijkaard as coach on a two-year contract, the Dutchman replacing Bülent Korkmaz after his resignation was accepted. He was out of coaching since he and Barcelona apart ways in June 2008. He had won 1 Champions League, 2 La Liga and 2 Spanish Cup. He also managed Sparta Rotterdam and Netherlands. With Netherlands in EURO 2000 he played in semifinals and lost to Italy on penalties. He gained lots of football authorities respect in the EURO 2000. I think it's going to be a very succesfull business between him and Galatasaray.

Howard's 40 point takes Magic to Finals Since 1995

I watched the game live and it was probably the most boring game of the series. I don't what happened in the Cavs locker room before the match but something was surely missing. While everyone expected a close match Orlando took the lead from the start and never gave it back.

Where was Lebron "MVP OF THE YEAR" where was Mike Brown "COACH OF THE YEAR" ?. I mean Cavs where totally frustrated. Lebron should have taken responsibility and control the game of Cavs but he didn't so Magic won the game without even pushing themselves to the limit like in the first 5 games.

Anyway I'm happy it's the second time a Turkish player has got in to Finals. Hedo has the most experience in playoffs besides his teammates. He also missed 2 opportunities to play in Finals against L.A Lakers. So it will be a revenge for him. Both of them was very dramatic. While he was playing in Sacramento, they were leading the series 3-1 and they missed to use their advantage. Second one was when he was playing for the Spurs, Derek Fisher scored 2 points while 0.4 seconds were left and knocked out the Spurs.

6th game was Dwight's show. He scored 40 points, 14 boards and added 4 assists. Also he shot 12/16 from the free throw line. Rashard helped him with 18 points and 8 boards while Pietrus came of the bench and added 14 points. Lebron scored 22 points. It was the only time he was behind 35 points in this series.

Of course the favorites are Lakers, but in semifinals Celtics were the favorites Magic beat them, in the Conference Finals Cavs were the favorites and again Magic beat them. So I have 2 words for you ; BEAT L.A.

27 Year of History ( Satire )

2 weeks ago Fenerbahce lost it's 6th final in the last 27 years. They one lost to Genclerbirligi, 2 times to Galatasaray and 3 times to Besiktas JIMNASTIC CLUB. Last they won was against Mersin Idman Yurdu who now doesn't even exist. In these Finals they conceded 23 goals. Here in my school non of my friends that support Fenerbahce haven't been able to see the Fortis Turkish Cup while I saw Galatasaray lift the cup 5 times and also played 2 other finals.

It think it's really hard for the Fenerbahce Fans because their biggest rival has 10 more cups than them. Most of the players in the Fenerbahce squad didn't see the cup either. It's really a sad position to be in concediring that they talk about them as the best team in Turkey. But at least they are starting to accept their failure in the Turkish Cup, most of my friends are saying that ''I hope I will see a cup before I die.''

Also Besiktas media made lots of fun after their 4-2 victory against their arch rivals Fenerbahce. Some examples ;

• What happens after Fenerbahce wins the Turkish Cup? The guy will turn the Play Station off.

• Holosko's daughter saw the Turkish Cup after 3 days she was born but 26 year old Fenerbahce Fans couldn't.
• If Fenerbahce achieves to win the Turkish Cup, probably the modern age will end and the a new age will begin, concediring that this event will be hard to believe for the humanity.

Magic One Step Ahead

Orlando Magic defeated Cleveland Cavaliers 99 to 89 and took 2-1 lead in the series. It was a really physical game, there were 58 personal fouls called, 2 technicals and 1 flagrant. Also in the first half Mo Williams left eye split open by Magic's Anthony Johnson when he caught him with his elbow. Williams returned to the game with 4 stiches. James scored 41 on just 11-of-28 shooting. Howard scored 24 and 14 of it was from the free throw line. Alston helped him with 18. Hedo scored ony 1 field goal yet he found himself with the only double-double in the game, scoring 13 points and having 10 boards. With this win Magic gained a slender advantage in the series but still they have to win the 4th game if they want to close the series early because Cleveland have much more potential then they need to make the series 3-2 in the game 5 if they win the 4th game.

Ranieri Sacked

Juventus Board decided to apart ways with Claudio Ranieri while only 2 weeks left to the end of Serie A. Juve didn't win a single game in the Serie A for the last 7 weeks so the board took action and sacked Ranieri who had a contract for the end of 2010. Juve is 1 point ahead of Fiorentina standing at the 3rd position and Ciro Ferrera will lead Juve for the last 2 weeks.

Hedo's Double-Double Knocks Out Champions Early

It was expected to be a close match, possibly as the Celtics will run out as the winners but Magic controlled the game from the beginning to the end and won the game 101-82. With this score Magic won the series 4 to 3 and knockout last years champs. Celtics small comebacks didn't work out as the Magic scored 13 out of 21 from the three point range. Hedo Turkoglu scored 25 and added 12 assists while Dwight Howard helped him with 16 boards and 12 points. Ray Allen's 23 point didn't saved Celtics and so on Magic will face healthy Cavaliers that have been waiting nearly a week for their next opponents. The 1st match will be at Quicken Loans Arena on wednesday.

No este año ''Los Galacticos'' 2-6

I'm not going to talk about the game or how great Barcelona played. We all know what they do. They pass the ball around expertly and confuse opponents head, they dominate the game from the beginning till the end and win the game without much effort. I'm just going to put some pictures, you will understand the rest about the game.

Magic needs to find another ''Magic''

Dwight Howard is sidelined for the 6th game of the First Round when Orlando Magic will visit Philadelphia in Wachovia Center. He was averaging 24 points and 15.8 rebounds per game in the series. As so Magic will need his other stars to step up such as Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis. But they have been quite in the series except that Hedo won the game 4 for the Magic. We'll see how Magic will react in 6th game when they can end up the series 4-2.

Lakers Sweep Season Series against Celtics

As thought before the game Lakers and Celtics give NBA fans an entertaining game to watch while Lakers were able to stop Boston's winning streak again. Both teams top 3 stars had a good game. Garnett-Pierce-Allen scored total 59 points while Odom-Gasol-Bryant answered with 70 points. Kobe wasn't making all of his shots but he scored three 3-pointers in the last quarter and the most important was when there was left only a minute and a half he put his team ahead with 1 points. Eddie House missed an unbalanced 3-pointer with one second left and this made the game go on to overtime tied at 101-101. Celtics started overtime without KG as he was fouled out in the 4th quarter. At overtime Odom took the spotline as he helped his team to win it by one point 110 to 109.

So in a potential NBA Finals between Lakers and Celtics the first 2 games will be played in California. I think it would be a great chance for revenge and Kobe will use this chance superbly with his crew.

Ron Dennis Set to Leave His Current Job in McLaren-Mercedes

McLaren-Mercedes team boss Ron Dennis said that he is going to leave his job on March 1st 2009 to Martin Whitmarsh who is the Chief Operating Officer of McLaren Racing. But Dennis has also added that this isn't a resignition, this is a way to work more for the McLaren-Mercedes.

Mesut chooses Germany

Despite all the effort that Turkey has put in, Mesut Özil choosed the German side. Germany Boss Joachim Löw decided to call him for his next squad who will play against Norway on 11th of February. Löw told the press that, ''It was a hard decision for him so we decided to wait until he sets his ideas. When we talked to him on the phone friday he told us that he wanted to play for the German Side.'' and he added that Germany gained a talented midfielder. Also his club manager Thomas Schaff said that Mesut has deserved a place in the Germany squad over his past performances. Mesut said that because his friends and family were Turkish, it was hard to decide. He also added that ''It's not an decision against Turkish Nation''

Now It's Time for Lebron's Turn

After 2 days Kobe's monday night 61 points performance wednesday night was Lebron James night. He also gave the Knicks fans a show by dropping 52 points and completing the triple-double with 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He scored his 20 of 52 points in the first 12 minutes. The match was a pretty tight one until Lebron set to shine, he scored and made assist which gave his team a 4 point breathing space with only 52 seconds remaining. Ilgauskas also helped Lebron with 15 points and 8 boards while Wally Szczerbiak finished the game with 12 points and 13 boards. Al Harrington's 39 points and 13 boards was no good to stop Lebron as they ended up in defeat 107-102.

Lebron become the 2nd player after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to score above 50 points and also make a triple-double. He made his 21th triple-double in the age of 24. King James not only achieved these after this game he become the third player after Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant to score above 50 points twice in the Madison Square Garden.

Unstoppable

NBA fans starting to get used to Kobe's performances but he is really doing an amazing job. Because of his finger injury he is only averaging 36minutes per game and it couldn't stop him from scoring. He is averaging 27,4 points per game only 0.9 points per game lower than last years average. Monday night he gave the Knicks fans a total show scoring 61 points in 36 minutes as some of the Knicks fans started to cheer ''MVP''. He has made all of his 20 free throws which made it even easier to reach 61.

He has been announced in the starters of the West All-Stars as he got the most votes in Western Conference and third in all NBA. His team has no real threat for the Western Conference Championship and also he has leading the MVP race along with Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. Things have been going great for the ''Number 24'' and Lakers. Let's see if anyone can stop tham.

Arsenal Completes the Signing of EURO 2008 Star Arshavin

Arsenal have completed the signing of Andrei Arshavin from Zenit for a fee of €16m. After a long period of meetings between Arsenal and Zenit, The Gunners were able to land one of the EURO 2008 top performers Arshavin to North London. Wenger was seemed happy enough while talking to media ''He's a versatile player with great experience and will add real quality to our squad." As were thought Andrei Arshavin was delighted to, "Arsenal are one of the leading football clubs in the world, with a group of fantastic young players and a great manager." Arsenal fans are happy about this signing but it takes more than Arshavin to get things back on the track in Arsenal. They are 5th in the League behind 10 points of the leaders Manchester United even Manchester United have played one game less than The Gunners.
